The site of a former park structure destroyed in Hurricane Katrina
becomes a new village of forms for weddings and gatherings.
Serving as a replacement for an event tent damaged during Hurricane Katrina, the facility is an ensemble of three permanent one story structures and a prefabricated tent linked together through a series of metal trellises.
All conditioned spaces and supporting equipment are raised and the tent is rated to withstand hurricane-force winds. The building includes a kitchen, bridal suite, outdoor bar, storage and restroom facilities.
Sited on axis with the fountain, the Arbor Room fronts a landscaped lawn for outdoor events and concerts.
