Sydney is a landscape designer with a background in environmental sciences and visual arts. Her experiences studying and working within these disciplines, and while teaching English as a second language, are informed by and continue to shape a deep reverence for place and understanding of cultural contexts. She applies a long-held passion for design, a respect for local histories, and a curiosity about environmental systems in all of her work.
Sydney brings skills in hand and digital drawing, GIS mapping, and landscape research to the firm. Her previous work in the autonomous vehicle industry allowed her to hone her technical skills while gaining an appreciation for urban and transportation planning methods. While in graduate school, Sydney worked as a research assistant for an ongoing landscape history project exploring processes of removing monuments from the American landscape. She continues her own research on the fate of Louisiana’s landscapes in the face of climate change through light and paper artworks and speculative fictional writings.
