David joined Waggonner & Ball in 1999 as a Project Architect. He has over 30 years of professional experience in design, construction documents, construction administration, and project management, and is especially involved in the firm’s campus and educational projects.

David is the son of Nathaniel C. Curtis, Jr., former partner in the internationally renowned firm Curtis and Davis Architects and Planners from 1946 to 1978. He had the good fortune of growing up with his 6 siblings in a mid-century modern masterpiece designed by his father in 1963 and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. David’s grandfather, Nathaniel C. Curtis, also an architect, was the first dean of the School of Architecture at Tulane University and the designer for Dinwiddie Hall on campus, the renovation of which David had the privilege of serving as project architect 85 years after the building’s completion. Waggonner & Ball’s LEED Gold renovation of Dinwiddie Hall was the first project in Louisiana to earn the 75% recycled construction waste credit.
