Amanda Bond

Originally from Jamaica, Amanda came to the U.S. and New Orleans to participate in the 5-year Bachelor of Architecture Program at Tulane University. There, she developed a strong interest in tropical and subtropical wetland ecologies and their relationships with the built environment and how people experience both.

She expanded upon these interests with her study abroad experience in 2022 at the National University of Singapore, as well as her thesis considering changes to Southeastern Louisiana’s built environment in the face of sea level rise.

Overarchingly, Amanda looks to better ecological understanding as a methodology for making more impactful design decisions for the future.
