Delaney McGuinness is a licensed Landscape Architect with primary experience in stormwater management, coastal planning, and public engagement. Delaney draws on her fine arts background to connect with people in her community and beyond to cultivate an actionable, shared understanding of our role in climate adaptation.

As a student, Delaney worked in the LSU Coastal Sustainability Studio and for landscape architecture firms in the Netherlands and California. She then gained professional experience implementing pragmatic resilience projects across multiple phases and scales in her hometown of New Orleans. Practicing landscape architecture locally, she created an accessible stormwater management planning strategy with the Tangipahoa Parish Government that could be applied across watersheds throughout the region and leveraged to obtain impactful funding. She completed park projects ranging from a beloved one-acre neighborhood park to a master plan of a 500-acre regional park. She also gained experience in the hospitality sector, working on the New Orleans Four Seasons Hotel & Residences and the historic Dooky Chase Restaurant, the first marker on the Louisiana Civil Rights Trail.

In addition to this practice, Delaney often educates and learns from children at schools around the city, leading interactive green infrastructure workshops. She serves as a critic at LSU reviews in the disciplines of landscape architecture, civil engineering, and the Communication across the Curriculum (CxC) program. Delaney is also a volunteer with multiple youth- and environment-focused community organizations operating in New Orleans.
