Andy is the Principal and Business Unit Leader of Waggonner & Ball’s resilience practice at the intersection of architecture, landscape, and urban design. He focuses on urban- and building-scale solutions that reveal the character of place and integrate issues of climate, nature, economy, and people. Andy works to build long-term collaborative partnerships between clients, communities, designers, and technical experts.

Andy has played an integral role developing and refining the firm’s Dutch Dialogues^® and Living With Water^® design approaches in New Orleans, Houston and Charleston. He was a lead author of the Greater New Orleans Urban Water Plan, which catalyzed a regional shift towards sustainable and resilient water management. Andy managed the firm’s Water As Leverage project in Chennai, India. At home, he led the 80-acre Gretna City Park resilient stormwater redesign, the first built pilot project of Louisiana’s LA SAFE adaptation strategy. In Charleston, Andy served as Waggonner & Ball’s project lead for Dutch Dialogues^® Charleston, the City Plan Land & Water Analysis, and the USACE Perimeter Protection Analysis.

Andy was selected to participate in the AIA Young Architect Forum’s Mission 2130 to reimagine design practice for the century beyond the AIA 2030 Commitment. He recently served as a College of Charleston urban planning thesis advisor, is on the board of Ripple Effect, a New Orleans-based non-profit center of excellence for water literacy, and is a member of the Washington University in St. Louis Alumni Board of Governors.
