City Park Headquarters

Replacement of a building destroyed in Hurricane Katrina sets a new aesthetic for New Orleans’ City Park and demonstrates good stewardship of the land.

Their former administration building ruined by Katrina, City Park chose Waggonner & Ball to design a new headquarters as a base of operations for the rebuilding of The Park. The first new structure to be built in The Park after the storm, strict FEMA funding guidelines regulation replacement costs were a constant challenge to our team as we searched for a design solution that was both practical and appropriate to the natural setting, a design that would inspire and give confidence to those tasked with rebuilding and maintaining the Park over time.
