John Kleinschmidt

John first joined the firm in 2008. He provides graphic expertise in both hand drawing and computer rendering, and was an integral participant in Dutch Dialogues, a series of workshops in which Dutch and American engineers, designers, and planners collaborated to rethink water management in greater New Orleans. John is currently leading the firm's efforts on the Gentilly Resilience District plan, an outgrowth of the firm's continuing urban water resilience advocacy in New Orleans. He was a key design team member, from start to finish, for the Beijing City International School’s Early Childhood Center, a 90,000 sf green oasis for young children in the hyper-urban context of Beijing. Since 2013, John has served as a Design Consultant for Ripple Effect, a collaboration between designers, water experts, and teachers to build water literacy using design thinking in New Orleans schools.
